    Password Protection for Files

    Hello,

I would like to know whether a particular document or a file can be protected or not? I have heard that a particular document or a file can be given a password option and it can be easily protected.

Can any one tell me whether i have to install any particular software for that or windows come up with a password option in it?

Don't take any kind of risk, as far as your documents or files is concern. It may be very difficult if you forget the password. You will not be able to open your documents and files unless you regain the password. So i think you should opt for a pen drive/USB stick in order to save your sensitive documents and files.

If you have installed Microsoft Office 2003 in your pc, it has that option available in it. I often uses the password option inorder to protect my documents and files.

    Yes sure..

Open the Word 2003--> In that Open the file, which you want to protect-->Then Click on Tools Tab--> Under that click on Options and in that click on Security.
