Word 2003 docs won't open??

EVERYTIME I try to open a Word document it gives me a couple of messages. First the pop up says Windows Insaller "preparing to install" stops then another pop up says " The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open". NO IT"S NOT!!!! I have tried the Officeav.dll file search and a couple of the other suggestions like Task Manager Start up bs and NOTHING stops this problem?
Can Someone tell me what is the problem??

Try reinstalling the Office 2003 and see if the problem persist?

Well that fixed it!! I tried to just reinstall and repair it first and same prob then I extracted it completely and then reinstalled the program and that did it!!
