Hi, My pc has been formatted, I reinstall win XP pro service pack p2. I downloaded IE7 from the Microsoft site. I installed but at a time of installation, the program tells me that failed to install and it told me to reboot my pc to cancel changes. How ?

Follow the instructions. On your desktop, you need to have an icon with a link that will tell you why it failed, and what you have to do.

Hey for a temporary period set IE6 as your default browser and visit the Windows update site, get all of the updates post SP2 EXCEPT IE7. after installing updates restart, then go back and get IE7 as a separate installation.

My problem got solved. actually it was Zone Alarm it was be causing a problem in updating .In the log svc.exe was being blocked but at the same time could not be added to the "trusted zone" so during another IE7 install attempt I shut down Zone Alarm temporarily. Install completed and IE7 was there after compulsory restart
