Cant Open Window Media center

So i cant open Media Center anymore on my Windows XP i get this error

ehshell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled

Process id=0x280 (640), Thread id=0x594 (1428)

Click OK to terminate the application
Click CANCEL to debug the application



..

if i click CANCEL i get another error

ehshell.exe - No debugger found

Registered JIT debugger is not available, An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings.

Cordbg.exe !a 0x340

Click on Retry to have process wait while attaching debugger manually
Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.

clicking retry does nothing.

I know for a fact it worked but one day out of the blue i got this error it comes up when i try to open Media Center. Help would be apreciated

• You schedule TV shows to record.
• You repeatedly resize, minimize, or restore the Media Center window.
• You repeatedly change the channel while Media Center is in a window.

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP. And upgrade your system.

Start >run and type in: cmd

In the Command Prompt window type the following commands and press the Enter key after the each command:-
Type: regsvr32.exe atl.dll
Type: cd \
Type: cd windows
Type: cd eHome
Type: ehSched /unregServer
Type: ehSched /service
Type: ehRecvr /unregServer
Type: ehRecvr /service
Type: ehRec.exe /unregServer
Type: ehRec.exe /regserver
Type: ehmsas.exe /unregServer
Type: ehmsas.exe /regserver
Restart Media Center

Hi and welcome,

Go to the Control Panel > Default Programs > Set your Default Programs.

Check defaults are all ticked and then set as default.
