Where is downloaded files in Firefox?

Hi I am windows XP user I love browsing with Firefox recently bought a new computer and installed firefox on it. However whenever I downloads something with Firefox after completing downloads I don't found them anywhere on my PC previously on my old PC the downloaded files automatically appears on desktop only but now I am not finding my downloaded files anywhere please help where the downloads got store with IE7 and opera downloads are easy and I use them efficiently but I like to use Firefox please suggest some solution I have reinstalled Firefox trice but facing same problem.

Open your Firefox:
click on Tools -> Options , Then in options menu see the downloads section and in save as dialog box see the locations of downloads surely you will find them and then make that location as desktop to save your downloads on desktop. Good luck

Well, it often archives in Desktop by default.
