Are you sure you completely uninstalled Excel? If you just deleted the icon, check your recycle bin.

Free trial versions of office are only offered in Office 2007 as this "trial" type of atmosphere is only offered for new Office packages.

If you just need something for tonight you can go to Google and use their spreadsheet program. It will save the file on your HD in an excel sheet format. There's no software to download, just need a google account.

    Goto
    Start > Run
    type excel.exe
If it opens you just deleted the shortcut. If it says it can't find the program, you might have managed to until it. Follow these next steps if it has target missing.

    Goto Start > Run
    appwiz.cpl
Look for Microsoft Office on the list.
    Click change.
You should be able to reinstall Excel when the wizard opens.
You can also use OpenOffice Calc as an Excel alternative if those options above don't work.

If Microsoft Office is gone from appwiz.cpl then goto Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and see if you can do a System Restore to before you removed it.
