    Cannot resolve ecx.images-amazon.com. Options

    Hello all,

I have a Windows 2003 DNS which cannot load images from amazon.com. It works
perfectly ok in a Windows 2000 DNS setup. It looks like the images are hosted
    at
    ecx.images-amazon.com, g-ecx.images-amazon.com etc.

This post is duplicated as I can't get any answers from MS DNS forum. I see
some posts with similar cause but can't get a right answer. Please advice.

    Thanks all

When you ping those hostnames do you get an IP address returned in reply? Is
it the same IP you get when you ping them from another, working,
    environment?

If so, it's not a name resolution problem and is more likely a browser
    issue.

If not, what's different about the forwarders you're using (presuming you're
    using forwarders)?

NB: I don't see a post from you in microsoft.public.windows.server.dns, for
what it's worth. That group does get a lot of traffic, so it's a good place
to post. Since you seem to be using the web interface to the newsgroups,
note that lost or dupe posts are not uncommon in that situation, and you
might consider using a news client, such as Forte Agent, Thunderbird, or
even Outlook Express instead. It's a lot easier to do nearly everything if
you use a newsreader....you also have the ability to mark messages to be
watched, filter the views so you can see replies to your posts easily, etc.

The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required.

    Re: Cannot resolve ecx.images-amazon.com. Options

While pinging from a Windows 2003 box, I get a host not found echo.

    C:\Program Files\Support Tools>ping ecx.images-amazon.com
Ping request could not find host ecx.images-amazon.com. Please check the
    name and try again.

On both servers in forwarders tab, DNS domain has All other DNS domains as
    the entry.

    Thanks

But you aren't seeing any IP addresses there for forwarders?

Try using your ISP's DNS servers as forwarders.
