Adding new physical disk resource to cluster

    Hello,
We have Windows 2003 R2 x64 cluster with shared storage EMC CX3-20.
I created new LUN added to storage group, in Windows created new partion and
formated it. Then tried to add new volume as resource to the cluster , i was
not able. Disk parameter drop down was empty. what it could be?
    Thanks

Have you presented the LUN properly? Have you rescanned for disks? Confirm
that you can see the disk in Disk Management on one node first.

Re: Adding new physical disk resource to cluster

I created LUN 20GB from existing RAID GROUP (size 100GB)
I moved new LAN to host gropup cluster, where all other LUNS for cluster are
I did not need to rescan in disk management, drive was there, i just created
    partion and formated it.
When i try add new dive to cluster as resource, cluster does not accept it,
drive parameters drop down menu is empty, i cannot assosiate resource with
    the new drive.

    Thanks

Re: Adding new physical disk resource to cluster

You can use the procedure described in the following KB to add the disk:

RE: Adding new physical disk resource to cluster

    Thank you for the response, but that article does not explain why it happening;
is it MS bug, SAN drivers or inproper procedure?
    Thanks

Re: Adding new physical disk resource to cluster

This usually occurs due to improper procedures. The cluster disk driver
typically only reads the available cluster disks at boot time, so if you add
a new disk without rebooting, this can occur.
