error 0x800706ba: The RPC Service is unavailable

Trying to add a second node to a cluster. Operating System is Windows 2003
Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2. Using the wizard to add a node.

Error occurs on Checking for existing cluster

The NetBIOS name resolves to the proper IP address

The server requests a connection to the cluster in the domain

Error: Could not contact the cluster

    Firewall is off

Check your network bindings, the public should be on top.

Check DNS and your settings for it. Is the cluster registered in DNS?

    Cheers,

    so,i had the same problem,
I think you need to check these:
1.did your account have right to logon the cluster managerment?
2.did you start the "windows time" service in the service managerment?
