I'm trying to resolve an issue with a Windows 2003 SP1 server. This server
is part of an Exchange cluster but I don't think this issue is cluster
related. All of the cluster nodes are identical HW and SW. When updates
are applied, updates are applied to all the other servers at the same time.
I only have a problem with the single server. The issues started after I
applied several Windows Updates a few weeks ago.
Here are some of the symptoms:
If I restart the server I can usually connect shortly after startup via RDP.
When I connect I can connect to other network shares. However, after a
short period of time I'm unable to connect to any shares. I'm able to ping
the servers with the shares. I can continue to stay connected with RDP but
if I disconnect I cannot reconnect. When I try to access any share it
states "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested
service" I'm not able to access anything until I reboot the server but the
problem comes right back.
In the System event log I have:
8021 and 8032 browser events.
"The browser service was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the
browser master..."
"The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times
on transport..."
2504 server events:
The server could not bind to the transport \device\netbiossmb
The server could not bind to the trnasport \device\NetBT_Tcpip_...
5719 Netlogon
This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain
controller in domain...Not enough storage is available to process this
command.
If I boot to safe mode with networking I don't have any issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
