Cannot copy <filename>: Insufficient system resources exist

    Hi All

    I have a problem I have recently implemented a HPDL380 G5 Storage Server
running windows 2003 Storage server, the problem I am now getting is when I
try to copy large files to this box I get the following error:

Cannot copy <filename>: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the
    requested service.

The server has 2 x 2.67 GHz dual core processors
    3.25 GB Memory
and presently not doing much at all apart from a few home directories.

This message only appears when copying large files in-between partitions or
    from other machines.

I have monitored the kernel memory and the physical memory but this does not
seem to be effected as one of the tech articles pointed towards paged memory
    usage.

Any help will be very gratefully received as there are no event logs for
this and I have searched the web with very little success

    Thank you in advance

    Pete

In 2000 was also this kind of problem:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259837

Maybe the CAUSE and MORE INFORMATION part helps.

We just resolved our issue (same issue as yours). We had to uninstall a program called EG Monitoring Suite from EG Innovations. Once we stopped their agent the issue went away.

Sorry, my reply was for this topic. I have been looking into this issue for a few weeks and these types of requests was all I could find. I just thought Pete might appreciate what I found and that it was not some setting but a conflict with a network monitoring program.

To whom do you refer? You haven't quoted the original text in your reply. I
have noticed of late that many such mystery replies are coming from posters
using techarena, and am finding myself suspicious as to the legitimacy of
the posts.....there have been a lot of spammers from techarena. If you're
not a spammer, please post the full text of the original message in your
    reply.

I see no post matching the one you say you're replying to in this newsgroup.
I'm not sure how your forum works, but if you want to access the MS public
newsgroups, use a newsreader client & msnews.microsoft.com as your NNTP
server. Using anything else (Google Groups, other cached forums, whatnot) is
not the best way and you're not going to see the "live" data. Even
Microsoft's web interface to these groups is icky. A plain old newsreadr is
    the thing. :)

You are replying to an older posting which is not available in the microsoft.public.windows.server.general
newsgroup. So please make sure to use the latest SP and patches for your
    system.

Also describe how you are doing the copy, with drag and drop in Explorer
or command line, etc., is it in the same machine or over the network?

Are you using shadow copies???. If you have big shadow copies you have to
    delete some of them.
