Just run MS05-019 security update. This would help you to get a proper output as per your need. This update will make required changes in the OS. Later on Windows will be able to validate ICP request. This update usually restrict the MTU size to 576byte. This is done to avoid ICMP attacks. It is essential for the security purpose. But this also affect some networks. Network connectivity may drop in some case. For fixing the issue you can go ahead with using a Network monitor software. this tool will give you a detailed analyses of your network.

You can try setting the MTU size manually. You can do that through simple settings. For that you will need to modify the system registry. To fix the same press Start + R from the keyboard. This will launch run box. In that you have to load registry editor. Type regedit and hit OK. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\<ID for network interface>. You have to click on Edit menu in it and then choose New > DWord Value. In this type MTU and enter. Once again to Edit > Modify > Value > MTU > OK. Restart your pc to see effect.
