Hi
Newbie question. We've got a website hosted on a Windows 2003 server. Last week, it stopped sending out emails. I checked our hosting, seems there was a Windows update. We did not update it, and the hosting company claims they do not do updates. But who updated it is irrelevant, point is, the website stopped communicating (ie sending out auto confirmation emails). And of course, we don't have any support. So here I am.
IP Config gives me this:
Windows IP Configuration

When I try to ping google, or any other website, I get 'could not find host'. Something is not working and I'm assuming it's DNS related.
So, when I go to Manage your Server>Add or Remove a Role, I can see Active Directory, DNS and DHCP server is not installed. When I try to install both the DNS and DCHP servers, I get an error 'sysocmgr.exe - Bad Image' 'The application or DLL ....netoc.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette'.
From reading several forum entries, I assume I need these (at least the DNS server) to change DNS settings to get the emails sending again?
I can see the emails sitting in the mailroot/queue, so something is causing them not to be sent. I just need to get the emails sending out again, which would fix the issues on our website: when auto confirmation email is sent, order process is complete. Without that email, our system displays an error.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Soni
