    Server Installation with SCCM 2010

I am trying to do installation of Server with SCCM 2010 (System Center Configuration Manager). I have tried lot of things but was not successful in installing server. So thought to take some help from you members. I also don't know about the system requirements for server installation with SCCM 2010, so there are chances that hardware requirement may cause the problem. Please provide requirements for Server Installation with SCCM 2010 along with the procedures needed for installation. I am expecting some quick responses from you members as you always do.

Re: Server Installation with SCCM 2010

System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 must be installed with all default roles. The functionality of SCCM Reporting Services R2/R3 must be installed and properly configured. The Configuration Manager client agents must be enabled and configured:
    • Hardware Inventory
    • Advertised Programs
    • Desired Configuration Management
To enable these agents, open the Administrative Console System Center Configuration Manager on the site where you want to install EndPoint Protection Forefront. Expand the Site Database tree => Website Management => <SITECODE> - <sitename> => Site Settings => Client Agents. Open the various agents mentioned above and make sure they are enabled and configured correctly. Machines where you install the extension components of the Configuration Manager Console Forefront EndPoint Protection 2007 to 2010 (this includes the console of the server site, the consoles on the positions of the directors ...) require the installation of KB2271736 order to ManagementClass add the WMI class.

Get sources Forefront EndPoint Protection 2010 in the architecture of the machine where you go to install the product. Run the executable ServerSetup.exe. Once the installation wizard open, complete the registration information of the product. On the next screen, accept the terms of the license agreement. The page offers the following installation options. There are 4 types of installation:
    • Basic Topology: This topology is the simplest. It allows the installation of all components (database, extending the SCCM site server, extending the console and reporting components) on the SCCM site server. It helps to centralize all the features on a single machine and reduces the configuration steps in the wizard.
    • Basic topology database with remote reporting facility allows the extension of the site server, the database EFF, the extension of the console, and components of reports on the current server. It does allow the offset of the database reporting (Data warehouse) to another machine.
    • Advanced topology allows complete customization of the installation. You can choose to distribute the roles as you see fit.
    • Install only Configuration Manager Console Extension for VET 2010 makes it possible to install only the extension Forefront EndPoint Protection 2010 for Configuration Manager 2007 console. This option is generally ready to allow administrators to script the solution to update the console on their desktop.

Re: Server Installation with SCCM 2010

After installing Topology, you can choose what you want to install:
    • Configuration Manager 2010 Site Server EFF Extension: The extension to the EFF site server allows the addition of FEP collections, packages and programs, the baselines for the management of VET configurations desired. This installation option must be run on the SCCM site server.
    • EFF Alerts and Reporting 2010 allows the installation of monitoring components of the infrastructure EFF. If you do not install this component on the SCCM site server, you must configure DCOM permissions for adequate access to consoles.
    • Configuration Manager Console Extension for VET 2010 installs the necessary files to the integration of management components in the console System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
The next page allows the configuration information from the database EFF. This must be installed on the same server / instance that hosts the Configuration Manager database. You can customize the name of the database EFF. The Reporting Configuration screen allows you to specify the information needed to install Reporting functionality. You can enter the server name, the instance and the name of the database that will host data reporting (Data warehouse). Finally you must specify the account information used by the report server to access the database Reporting EFF 2010. The next step lets you configure options for updating the product and program participation for improvement.

The next page allows you to join the Microsoft SpyNet. This program is an initiative of Microsoft as it exists among its competitors to join a community to stop the spread of malicious and unwanted software. The program allows for example to be notified of software and not analyzed whether the other members allowed or denied the changes initiated by them. The program allows Microsoft to detect such threats more quickly, thereby consolidating the needs analysis on the real alerts. There are two types of subscriptions:
    1. Basic SpyNet membership allows you to send to Microsoft information about the detected malware. This information may be the origin of the software, the action undertaken, maturity (success or failure).
    2. Advanced SpyNet membership can be notified of software whose risks have not been analyzed, you can see if other members of the community permit or deny the software or changes made by software. This information can help you make your decision. Similarly, your choices are added to the rankings and help other members make a decision. You can be warned against a program that has not yet been classified according to risk.
The next screen lets you specify the installation directory and get a vision of the prerequisites of disk space. You can get more detail about the error by clicking "More ...". This will allow you to solve the problem.
