How to create domain with Windows Server 2008?

I want to create a network domain, ie a server and client computers that connect directly to it, perhaps sharing the files (ie, within a client or another can see my files). But I could not configure windows server 2008, and I could not find an accurate guide on how to do step by step, you know where I can find it? Also it would be much helpful if you members explain me in simple language. Detailed information would be much appreciated.

Honestly there is nothing new compared to what has been striking in this Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 Server. The process of creating a new domain controller has been refined and still make more information available during the installation of Active Directory. In the next steps, you will create the new domain betadomain.local that your server will be the first Windows Server 2008 domain controller. There are two ways:
    • use the classic command Dcpromo.exe.
    • add the role Active Directory Domain Services using the Server Manager and run the next stage with Dcpromo.exe.
These modes are equivalent, although the latter is more guided and informative, very similar to the Manage Your Server window in Windows Server 2003. You can run the command Dcpromo.exe. After a moment of pre-installing some binary components, you get to the wizard application. Moving on, click Create a new domain in a forest and then insert the new FQDN for our new domain, namely betadomain.local.

After a quick check that the name is not already present in the Active Directory forest, you must choose the functional level. If we think in the future to include other domain in our Domain Controller Windows 2000, click the Windows 2000 functional level. If, however, we plan to add other Domain Controller with Windows Server 2003 or higher, choose the Windows Server 2003 functional level. In our case, we have only Domain Controller with Windows 2008 and, as is clearly shown in the bottom of the screen, we can not add Domain Controller in the future with earlier operating systems. There are four new features in Windows Server 2008 functional level:
    • more granular password policy, with the ability to create multiple password policies for different users and user groups in the domain.
    • support DFS replication Sysvol.
    • support for AES (AES 128 and 256) for the Kerberos protocol.
    • information of the last interactive logon of a user, on which workstation and the number of failed attempts before a logon was successful.
Let the values proposed for the positions of the database files, log files and Sysvol folder (the partition that will be required to contain formatted with the NTFS file system) and enter the password for the Directory Service Restore Mode (which must comply complexity requirements).

If you are accumulating your server to an existing domain (in which case it's 2000-2003-2008 Most Likely a assorted environment), you must prep the Active Directory environment for bring into play with 2008 servers. You can do this by performing the subsequent steps:
    1. Add the Server 2008 DVD into your presented major domain controller (or at slightest Provide access to the DVD over the network and utilize Remote Desktop to access the server).
    2. You will have to open a Command Prompt window (Star—Run—cmd-- OK) and toggle to your DVD drives. Then apply the Source command cd \ ADPREP to switch to the folder.
    3. The next run commands to prepare your Active Directory environment ...
      • adprep / forestprep
      • adprep / domainprep
      • adprep / gpprep
      • adprep / rodcprep
If you do not do this before you initiate configuring your system for the Windows Server 2008 domain, the process will stop working, and you could make vulnerable operations of your network.
