Windows Server 2008 Cluster Internal NIC

    Hi guys/gals,
I have a cluster setup using 2 x Blade Server.

The guy whom setup the cluster has used the wrong NIC as the private LAN(Internal use).

I need to change the NIC for cluster Internal use (E.g Change NIC 4 to Private use, NIC 3 to Backup. How do i go about doing it.

    NIC 1 - Prod LAN
    NIC 2 - Management LAN
    NIC 3 - Private LAN
    NIC 4 - Backup/Spare

    Thanks

Re: Windows Server 2008 Cluster Internal NIC

I don’t have any more idea, but how much I know about this, I just tell you. Make the network with a connection type of “Internal Only”. I enabled Private LAN identification and situate the default ID to 4 as this will be my Backup/Spare. Setting the default to 3 means that if I don’t state a Backup/Spare on consequent NICs they will be classified as public connections. Be certain to rename every network card on the hosts to make recognition simpler.
