How to Administer Windows Server 2008 from Windows XP?

How to administer WIn2008 from Windows XP?
Can I use the Windows 2003 Admin Tools to open, for example, ADUC 2008?

Wich old tools (ADMINPAK.MSI and/or GPMC tools) can be used to administer
new services (AD, OUs, GPOs, etc)

The AD 2008 will be installed next month and i need to plan how 1st level
services, like resetting passwords, will be done if Help Desk Staff uses XP
    machines

You'll need the RSAT for Vista or Win7. Unfortunatly there's not a complete
    soultion for XP.

You can also use a 2008 member server if you are Vista opposed and not ready
    for Win7.

    Hello FB,

To manage 2008 correct you have to use 2008 or Vista with RSAT installed
or logon to the DC with RDC. Adminpak on XP may work with parts.

The corp is 100% XP and BVista is not used at all

I need to give Help Desk level 1, tasks like add users, reset passwords
    WITHOUT giving Full TS Access.

I can´t use Vista and i´m thinking if i can install a Ts Web and publish
ADUC (or other tools) to be used by the Help Desk level 1, so they can help
with the basic tests, without a Full Access

    Hello FB,

You can use the adminpak on XP machines to manage the domain running with
2008 DC's. BUT all new features/policies you are not able to manage from
a XP machine with adminpak installed. So your basic's like listed in the
posting before should work. So try it out on a test machine and see if you
get your complete functionality, if not you must use 2008/vista.

    Best regards

Until you can get to 2008 R2 or Windows 7, for your helpdesk needs look into
evaluating third party tools such as Quests free download of ADMC.
