    dcom event id 10016

I have an error related to DCOM (event id 10016).

I have located the CLSID in the event description and when I search for it
in the registry, I find the "friendly" name in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

However, I cannot find a corresponding entry in the Component Services DCOM
config for this friendly name so I cannot test any permission changes.

    Any advice please ?

    Thanks

    Re: dcom event id 10016

    Here is the event text

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation
permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {70A1007F-579C-451B-A947-E25C7684D0F0}
    to the user xxxx\xxxxxxx SID
    (S-1-5-21-3291549565-3188621438-1341391655-23950). This security permission
can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

When I search for the CLSID in the registry, I can find an entry under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT for it (ActiveRolesWCAudit.WCAudit) but no corresponding
object exists under DCOM Config in Component Services.

I appreciate this is a 3rd Party product but any advice would be great.

    Thanks

    Re: dcom event id 10016

Hi, hope I am posting this in the right spot.

I have been getting about 16 of these DistributedCOM errors each day for the past week. There are two of them that happen at same time. If I get 10 errors, 5 are of 1 & the other 5 are of the other. I have no idea what caused them. I made no changes to my computer that I was aware of.

I am not able to understand what permissions I need to change or how to do it. It just says to go into the component services administrative tool & modify permissions. I noticed there are a lot of programs, both window related & ones I installed that are referenced by these errors.

Could someone walk me through this step by step please. I would be eternally grateful.

    Here is my errors
