Hi there, aproval is done on the updates themselves. If you approve the
updates for the specific computer group your computers are in then they will
    automatically be pushed out.

Reading the WSUS manual is a lot more helpful than is asking someone
else how to do it for you:

    WOW!

You are a jerk. The guy had a simple question. Everyone knows that a user manual exists for just about everything, but sometimes its faster and smarter to ask someone than spending a couple hours just reading. Next time if you don't want to answer a question, then don't reply.

Re: wsus Pushing updates to computers

    Hi Q,

As far as PUSHING updates goes, I have not read anything that gives you the ability to manually PUSH from your WSUS server to your client computers easily, but there are utilities out there that allow you to PULL from the client computers from your WSUS server. You should be able to go to a command prompt at the client computer and type:

    wuauclt /detectnow

This forces the client computer to call to your WSUS server to pull updates.

The down side is that you would need to run this command from each client computer.

Other things that come to mind are to:

    1) Make sure that you have a Approved the download of the update for the OS or program that you want. If you do not have automatic approval of updates, then you may need to approve the update first or it won't go out from the WSUS server to the client computers.

    2) Make sure that the update is downloaded for the particular OS or program that you want to update. If the update has a red circle with a white "X" in it in the WSUS console, then right click it and select "Retry Download".

    I hope this helps,
    Bus
