synchronizing domain user Local cached credentials with domain

I have some kind of a problem of capturing if a locally cached credentials is getting out of sync with domain credentials. A user on the Windows 2003 is using domain user account so that he can access Windows XP with service pack 2 on a laptop while remaining offline. I need any kind of tool or some script to syncronize local cached password to the domain if the password has beend changed and also capture / log if these passwords are out of sync. Can anyone please help me out.

Follow the suggestions given below and see if that helps:

First of all try to log into the pc with old password
After that you can try to connect to the domain or vpn and then lock the computer.
After that try to unlock with new password which forces update with domain access.

Can you click on Start and then in Run type GPEDIT.MSC. After that check under computer configuration >> and then expand >> administrative templates >> system >> logon. Here you have to choose the "Always wait for the network at computer startup" value since the default state is "not configured". Now try to set this to "ON". After that restart the pc and then VPN in and lock the workstation and unlock with new password. Hope this helps.
