A "HIDDEN" user account on XP HOME

I am having a Windows XP Home edition computer at my home. Few days ago I created a new Admin User Account with “Limited” privileges. So far it was working fine and visible on the logon screen. Yesterday due to some reason I tried changing it from “Limited” to “Normal” using control userpasswords2. It appeared to be done file but when I restarted the computer next time it is just not visible on the screen.

Now I can only see the one Admin account that is mine and not the second that I changed yesterday. However when I press Ctrl+Alt+Del I can login with that username and password but it is no visible on the normal login window. Secondly. I thought to delete this account and create a new one but surprisingly it is also no t available under User Accounts in Control panel.

Any idea how can I fix this issue?

Just try out these steps and see if it works. Login with your Administrator account and go to Start, click RUN and open CMD. Now enter the following command:

    net localgroup users /add USERACCOUNT

Note: Replace “useraccount” with the correct name of the account. You will get a message saying that the command has completed successfully. Now go check Control Panel User Accounts and hopefully that account should be visible now.

Yeah, that’s correct. I have used in past and it has worked many times. If in case the command wont work for you than simply enter try this:

    NET USERS <account> /DELETE

This will delete that account from the system.
