    windows explorer too slow

    Hi!
I have a windows XP pro with SP2, built from windows 2000 pro upgrade.
Everything is fine, except that any file or program that I open via windows
explorer or my computer takes too long. If the network is disconnected, this
problem disappears. I have no network drive mappings.
    the disks are defragmented.
    Any idea ?
    thanks !
    David

Try booting into Safe Mode and Safe Mode with networking to see if that
makes any difference. If it does you can try using msconfig in selective
startup mode to find out what service/startup process is causing the
problem. Msconfig is included with XP. Enter msconfig in the run box and hit
    OK to start it.
