    Can I eliminate GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe?

When I launched Task Manager and then clicked on Processes then the GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe was occuping 1000k+ of memory and I wonder why is it using so much of memory, as it shouldnt. Therefore I wanted to know a way to eliminate this process and even if I kill the same process then will the toolbar work normally like before or not?

I dont think that you need the toolbar, as the computer will work fine without it as well. And you if dont want to run it then use NTFS to set a deny all ACE on the file and it will never run. But I dont know or cannot say for sure whether the toolbar will work or not because it is a third party tool and those are very buggy sometimes.

Thanks for the reply but I really do require Google Toolbar since I do all the searching from google and yahoo and microsoft are not accurate thats why. Please tell me a workaround to run this toolbar without the notifier.exe process, it would be very helpful.

You can stop the same process by going in the Startup menu. To do that, click on Start and then in the Run Box type msconfig. After that a window will pop up, click on the startup tab and then from the list of given choices, you have to click on the google update notifier and simply uncheck the box, close the box and then restart the pc. Check in the task manager now, you will not see the GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe anymore.
