You do not have permission to access portions of System State\Registry file

I am using Veritas 8.6 for taking backup in my system. I am using this from some months and it is working fine. Recently I had made some changes. After that I am getting constant error and the backup failed to work. The error is about some system state files which are not accessible. It look like some kind of basic issue but I am not getting a proper solution. The registry file is basically windows core component. What the backup software has something in relation to it. I am running the same in admin account.

I am using Windows 2000 server. I am too having the same issue. It looks the software is buggy with this Windows edition. You cannot simply rely on it for backup. I had contacted Microsoft support and hope to find some proper solution for it.
