On the occasion of the grand salon of Las Vegas, the manufacturer Asus has unveiled two monitors for gamers, one via its own brand and other through its ROG brand dedicated to gaming.

The first model is wearing the MG279Q reference. Built around an IPS panel, it has a diagonal of 27 inches, a definition of 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, a gray-to-gray response time of 5 milliseconds, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a brightness level of 350 candelas per square meter and a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 connectivity. We also find HDMI, DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort with support for MHL smartphone (the successor of SuperMHL from elsewhere to be disclosed), but also USB 3.0 ports. The support allows tilt, swivel, tilting portrait/landscape and height adjustment. No information on marketing for now is given.

The second model is called ROG Swift PG27AQ. Equipped with an IPS panel, it offers a diagonal of 27 inches, a definition of 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution, a gray-to-gray response time of 1 millisecond, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a brightness rate of 300 candelas per square meter and a static contrast ratio of 1000:1. If it withstands the G-Sync technology from Nvidia, this is not the case for the FreeSync variant of the competitor AMD. Note also an Auto Game Mode technology that detects the type of game (FPS, RTS, etc.) to provide the most appropriate settings. In terms of connectivity, there is a single DisplayPort 1.2. Its foot allows tilt, swivel, tilting portrait/landscape and height adjustment. Again, the distribution data were not disclosed.
