The Nokia Lumia 1020 with its 41 megapixel PureView camera sensor will be a successor to the Nokia RM-1052, or is it just a prototype of abandoned Nokia McLaren that appeared on a Chinese auction site, leaked pics suggests.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 had surprised many people with its 41 megapixel PureView camera sensor, showing that it was possible to integrate a large sensor in a smartphone. If the camera modules now reach 20 megapixels on the top models of current range, the Lumia 1020 is still a separate object.
Will there be a successor to the Nokia RM-1052 with Windows Phone 8.1 which shots have appeared on a Chinese auction site? The images of a smartphone with a large PureView sensor at the back shows the certainity and recall a product marked "Property of Microsoft Mobile".
The device is reported as a prototype and propose a display about 5-inches in full HD resolution, with a quad-core processor combined with 2GB of RAM. The hull seems to be mostly made of aluminum.
If it can still be a fake, that mysterious smartphone could also be a prototype of the Nokia McLaren, smartphone mentioned several times this year. This model was preparing to introduce a particular interface with 3D Touch, to manage touch gestures. It remains to see if there is a stillborn prototype or it will turn into a finalized product soon.
