WhatsApp, a mobile messenger service, for users in India will remain free. The Indian users who are using WhatsApp application on their mobile phone will not have to pay for the subscription charges after completion of one year which is widely used in other countries.
Previously, WhatsApp for charging all the customers $1 after using it for a year as an annual subsciption charge. But due to the less usage of credit-card services in India, the WhatsApp company has recently decided to keep its services free in India, as said by the business head Neeraj Arora.
The userbase in India for WhatsApp has now grown over to 70 million active-users which is over 1/10th of its global users.
WhatsApp was recently acquired by Facebook for a hugesome of $19 billion. It was also noted that there will be no ads in the app as they believe that many people will not feel the pleasant experience in the application. India is also one of the biggest markets for WhatsApp
