Two influential companies in the high-tech sector have announced a partnership that will last for 10 years: LG and Google will share their respective patents, whether in present or future.

The agreement in question involves "a wide variety of products and technologies" and should run until 2024. Faced with Samsung to come off the yoke, Google is finally caught up with another South Korean manufacturer of consumer electronics that has attracted the favor of the most powerful web player: LG Electronics.

The contract stipulates the sharing of various technologies and patents, whether existing or to be filed over for the next 10 years. JH Lee, head of the department of intellectual property at LG commented on the partnership: "LG makes its relationship with Google and this agreement reflects the commitment of both groups to develop new products and new technologies that will improve the lives of consumers."

Currently, LG is beginning to break into the smartphone market, tablets and smartwatches, but only through the products with Android. For the manufacturer to ensure the support and collaboration of Google, it is also to ensure truly settling on the mobile market. Better yet, if Samsung is currently the number one Android mobile, according to many analysts, this is because the brand has been the flagship of Google over the years. A dependence which Samsung would however detach without losing its reputation or its success in the market. However, by signing this type of contract, LG hopes to become the favorite of Google and take advantage of the growth that has shown Samsung to come and take its place as leader.

LG is also on track to climb the ladder, already it is the fourth smartphone manufacturers in the world, G3 showed that the firm was able to develop exceptional products, and to meet public expectations.

From the perspective of Google, the situation is different. If the company shows a talent for developing concepts, software and ideas, the group is not able to produce itself its devices.

With this partnership, Google could offer its own ideas in the form of an exclusive line of products, as is the case with Nexus devices.
