Preinstalled on Windows Phones, Nokia Here mapping service at last arrives on Android, with some restrictions, as only Samsung devices are used for now.

The announcement was made, and appointments given for this October by Samsung and Nokia, the service Here mapping is finally deployed in beta on devices from the Korean manufacturer.

Users of smartphones and tablets of Samsung now have access to the beta version of Here Maps, a mapping and navigation solution offered by Nokia previously proposed on all Microsoft devices. It will go through the Galaxy App Store before purchasing the application which does eventually find the general route of the Google Play Store a few months.

The application offers the user to create an account, which will save a lot of data about his movements to be a historical or a list of points of interests and favorites in connection with its use.

Overall, Here is approaching other mapping services, but the app is distinguished by its Google Maps navigation option closest to a real GPS. Thus, it is possible to download the entire map of India to stop using GPS as the only connection to move. A useful solution when one traverses in areas with little access to mobile networks, or when you have a data plan restricted.

In online mode, the application will use the various databases available to offer a set of points of interest, addresses, facts about the places visited.

Here is only compatible with devices equipped with at least 1GB of RAM and Android 4.1. No date has been announced for the deployment of Here on Android more broadly, Nokia and Samsung have an exclusive partnership with unknown duration.
