For a few years now, Google has set the tone with its Nexus range: it is possible to have a very high quality product with outstanding services at competitive prices. And Nexus 9 could finally drive the nail.

Presented in recent months with the codename Volantis, manufactured by HTC, the Nexus 9 gets revealed a little more on the site of Android Police who have got their hands on some of the official data sheet of the tablet.

Already mentioned in previous rumors, the recovered documents confirm the presence of the famous Tegra K1 64-bit platform of Nvidia. A real powerhouse capable of offering games at worthy references of AAA console and PC (relatively speaking) on mobile devices.

The processor is a dual core as opposed to the 32-bit version that is based on 4 core Cortex A15 ARM, but changes to the game ARMv8 instruction that would enable the 64-bit K1 which truly surpass its standard variant. Kepler GPU would also make the tablet a real gaming platform.

The screen would be better, as it now would point to a diagonal of 8.9 inches for a definition of 2560x1600 pixels and a density of 339 pixels per inch, it is above most tablets currently.

With this specification, the Nexus 9 could see its prices starting above 300 euros. For Google, the choice of HTC rather ASUS for achieving this tablet has a double meaning: Asus sanction for the last two generations of Nexus 7 which were hampered by several performance issues and defective series, but it is also an opportunity for Google to show that it is possible to benefit from more power eventually with little increase on the bill, and also prepare users at the end of the Nexus program.
