According to several publishers and biggest names in video games, virtual reality is truly a revolution that will change the way we play in the near future. And success is already an appointment for the very promising Oculus Rift that has sold over 100,000 copies.
Still in prototype stage dedicated primarily to developers, the DK2 (Development Kit 2) of Oculus Rift was sold up to 45,000 copies, for a total of virtual reality helmets exceeding 100,000 kits.
Figures that are very encouraging not only for the firm Oculus recently acquired by Facebook, which will continue the development of its helmet, but also for the players, since these kits are primarily for developers, indicating that many publishers should propose securities operator features of virtual reality.
Unfortunately, Palmer Luckey feared when launching the project on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter happened: today demand exceeds far more than the capacity of the firm.
Whether it's DK1 or 2, delays accumulate. The first version had been delayed due to out of stock because of several components necessary for its manufacturing, and the DK2, it would be the speed of the production line that would be challenged this time.
Nevertheless, orders remain open and DK2 continues to be priced at $350.
