Last month, Apple launched a French exchange program in its Apple Store that allowed iPhone users to come and exchange their device against a discount for the purchase of a newer model. Today the program extends to the iPad.

For the sake advertised as "green" Apple offers iPad users to bring their ancient tablets in the Apple Store to exchange against vouchers. The scheme is similar to that already offered with the iPhone and the MacBook, namely that depending on the model, its version and its condition, the purchase will be higher or lower.

The good news is only that you get a new iPhone or iPad. Unfortunately, Apple announced that this is a gesture promoting recycling, but at the same time specialists of Apple Store would have received a list of 22 things to check on the devices to define whether they are eligible or not for the offer.

Thus, among the prohibitive criteria, it should be noted that Apple refuse any exchange if the iPad has no official documents (screens, batteries, etc) or it is jailbroken but can not be restored if the "locate my iPhone" cannot be disabled and other points.

Devices most recent are also not involved in the bid nor too old devices. Yet deployed in the U.S. and Canada, iPad offering might be brought to other countries in the coming months.
