Huawei is one of the device manufacturers to offer smartphones shipping in both Android and Windows Phone, with commercialization expected in established markets.

After Indian manufacturer Karbonn who first announced its intention to launch a smartphone with Android and Windows Phone all onboard, now another manufacturer has choosen the same strategy. Chinese manufacturer Huawei will do the same, and in the second quarter of the year.

And it will not be a product reserved for the local market but a smartphone that will be available in established markets, starting with the United States. It should arrive with the availability of Windows Phone 8.1, whose announcement is expected in April.

Android-Windows Phone

This dual-boot seems to benefit Microsoft especially, which may expect to see the market share of its mobile OS increased, while Google would not be too keen to see the arrival of Windows/Android combos to the point of curbing projects of dual OS products underway.

Strategy around these projects is not clear, said the site The Verge, or even how the two OS will work on devices.
