Apple offers an update of iOS 7.0.5. It is intended for new iPhones but not yet promised for the screen of death correction issue. It does not fill the gaps exploited to jailbreak.

The fifth update for iOS 7 seems really minor and only applies to certain models of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

In particular, if we look at the release notes, iOS 7.0.5 is designed to correct a problem "network provisioning bug" for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models sold in China. Recalling that the first mobile operator in the world, China Mobile has started selling iPhones in mid-January.

Recently, Apple announced the upcoming patch for a bug affecting iOS 7 with a white or black screen of death. The question arose whether this correction might be with an update of iOS 7.0.5. The answer is no. Will it take iOS 7.1, is the real question?

iOS 7.0.5 update

At first, iOS 7.0.5 was visible outside the USA but that changed after the findings of hacker MuscleNerd. The member of the team said evad3rs have "deep feeling" that iOS 7.0.5 does not fix the flaws exploited by evasi0n7. However, it recommends jailbreakers not to apply this update yet.

Known in the world of jailbreak under the pseudonym i0n1c, Stefan Esser confirms his side that iOS 7.0.5 does not prevent the jailbreak. Simply editing the binary file of evasi0n7 allows the new number of iOS. A change that can not put it online because it would be a violation of copyright.
