The war of the next generation consoles is already won in advance? This is what something which is announced by a famous analyst of the video game market that sees a victory for PlayStation 4 at the end of 2016.
Xbox One would have a lifespan of two years, after which it must give way to the winner of the console wars: the PlayStation 4. At least that is what is announced recently by Michael Pachter, an famous analyst with Wedbush Securities.
According to Pachter, the video game market will be clear by the end of 2016: the user base of PlayStation 4 will be 30% higher than the Xbox One.
More question arise between the Xbox and PlayStation as for the past generation, the differences should quickly grow between Microsoft and Sony. According to analyst, at the end of 2016, the PS4 should display up to 37.7 million against only 29 million copies for the Xbox One.
On the Wii U, Pachter believes that its cumulative sales are projected at 20 million units by 2016, and that of Nintendo will continue to suffer as long as it will target casual gamers who are channeled into more mobile platforms: smartphones and tablets.
Currently, the situation is already biting for Xbox One in France since sales of the PS4 exceed 50% of the sales of the Microsoft console, mainly because of a 4 most important launch of PlayStation stock, but also a more affordable since the Sony console sells 100 euros less than its U.S. competitors. A review for Sony which extends internationally as the PlayStation 4 occupies 31% market share against 22.7% for the Xbox One, even though the console is not yet available in Japan.
Finally, according to Michael Pachter, the price of the Wii U could be reduced by 50% within three years. Worse, if sales are too low, Nintendo could directly consider withdrawing its console market, even if it no longer has console to catalog before the next generation of machine.
