The laptop among Apple workstations, namely the Mac Pro with rounded shapes, appears to be less complicated than it seems to be removed for repairs or updating components, iFixit notes it.

At WWDC in June, Apple announced iOS 7 but the group also unveiled the Mac Pro, a professional computer at the same time very powerful, compact and modular design with specific cylinder-shaped, all designed in California and assembled in the United States.

The Mac Pro is available from mid-December in several configurations and with a price starting at €3,000. The form of the product and its specificity could possibly be a problem for opening the beast and access its components for repair.

iFixit who conducted its faithful tradition of disassembly rule, says it is very easy to open it. Access to internal components is more easy than it sounds, which may facilitate an upgrade of the Mac Pro if necessary.

RAM sticks are easily accessible, allowing rapid change for a more robust configuration (up to 64GB). iFixit notes that there is only one fan in the computer, by circulating air from bottom to top in the cylinder, with a large common heat sink to the CPU and two GPU.

The CPU is also replaceable by the user directly (with some knowledge anyway, and after removing several intermediate elements) that may potentially pass itself more powerful than the Intel Xeon processor E5-1620.

In the end, this is a repairability score of 8 out of 10 which is attributed to the Mac Pro, despite the presence of some internal proprietary connectors and lack of ability to add internal storage (lack filled by different ports available).
