Announced on October 22 alongside with the iPad Air, the new iPad Mini with Retina display was officially launched for sale on Tuesday morning, on the Apple Store online for two hours, showing a maintenance page afterwards. The tablet is marketed from 399 euros in two colors (sidereal gray or silver) with estimated delivery time in "5-10 business days".
The price of the iPad Mini Retina amount to 695 euros for a 128 GB version and WiFi, or 795 euros for a 128 GB model combining WiFi and 4G mobile connection.
During the presentation of its latest financial results, Apple hinted that supplies could be problematic on this model, probably because of the difficulty in producing screens of 2048 x 1536 pixels with 7.9 inches used in this tablet. The first generation of iPad Mini is also available for purchase online, with prices that start at 299 euros.
So far, Apple had refused to provide a launch date, referring to the month of November without elaborating. The company has opted for a launch early this week, contrary to its habit which means that new products are introduced in the market on Friday.
