Download Blackberry's BBM for iOS and Android

After a first aborted launch, the BlackBerry instant messaging feature BBM, arrives on Android and iOS. It currently offers the text conversations and sending images.

It was via one of the flagship ads of BlackBerry Live conference in May: the Canadian manufacturer has opted to open the BBM instant messaging to other mobile platforms, announcing the arrival of applications designed for iOS and Android devices. After a first launch compromised during September through early leak of BBM client for Android, BlackBerry retried its luck this week, with the simultaneous release of BBM on the App Store of Apple and Google Play of Android.

Those who already have a username or BBM who cared to register online to be kept informed of the publication of these applications can use it immediately. For others, BlackBerry has set up a system queue, with alert by email. A way as any to regulate the load on the service, probably to ensure that the launch took place in good conditions. Published Monday, these two applications have in fact already registered more than 5 million downloads, according to BlackBerry.

What do they offer? The interface is adapted to the target environment, but maintains very close to those of BlackBerry 10, the system installed by the Canadian manufacturer on its own smartphone features. Functions, however, are a bit more limited since we have here an instant text messaging, with status, profile, smileys and sending images, while the BlackBerry version of BBM also offers video calling and sharing of the screen. The firm promises, however, that it will arrive soon.

Re: Download Blackberry's BBM for iOS and Android

The company ensures that six million people have registered for the newsletter on the platform version of BBM. On Android, a million people have downloaded it on the final version that had not burst onto the Internet last month, which had delayed the official launch. BlackBerry also claims one million iOS users have installed BBM on their iPhone before the hour, by using "creative methods".
