Intel, leading semiconductor chipmaker showed up a tiny cpu which is ideal for working portable devices. Named as Quark this is a low power consuming cpu offering reasonable performance. Intel did not clarified that this cpu is going to be used in mini-pc or portable ultrabooks. This cpu is going to power wearable gadgets. The cpu is going to used in various machines and devices used in the medical industry. Being a small cpu, it is easy to fit it with any hardware and add a more smart OS on it. Mobile processor are gaining a huge success today in our market, where performance demand increase day by day. This new processor which is just started can bring a new revolution in coming time. Intel has not released any detailed specification on the cpu. This processor is not yet designed or has a power to work with mini pc. Yesterday a Quark power developer board is released in the market named as Galileo. This board supports Arduino software library. The tiny board comes loaded with more hardware features. It is not limited to its design. The board offer you a 10/100 Ethernet port with 2 usb and a mini pci express slot on it. It has 256onboard SD RAM. For storage you can use a 32GB MicroSD card on the same.

Intel Quark Processor

First Quark X1000 comes integrated with the board. This is a single core chip that based on x86 archietecture. The cpu offers a 400MNhz clock speed with 16kb of L1 cache. The board is open source. That means you can use it for your own development purpose. The price is not yet disclosed. This would be the first board which came with Quark cpu. This might open up new platform for the developers to bring out more rich devcies in the market used at various places. Intel Atom process was able to make it way on Smartphones and Tablet. The same cpu is also seen in netbooks. We can expect more better version in future. Quark is a low power cpu.
