Lava's Iris series of smartphone remained very successful in the market and hence the brand launched several new devices under this series in past few months. Today they introduced yet another two new members named as Iris 506Q and Iris 505. Both these devices can be considered as Phablets because of 5 inch displays. Lets have a look at them individually.
Lava Iris 506Q is the superior among these two new members but not as powerful as Iris 504Q. It features a 5 inch qHD capacitive touch screen display offering 960 × 540 pixels resolutions. Running on Android 4.2 JellyBean operating system it is Dual SIM phone powered with 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 512MB of RAM from which we can surely expect a smooth performance. The device also seems good in connectivity with options like 3G (HSDPA: 21 Mbps) , Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP and GPS. with Iris 506Q users also get 5 Megapixel rear camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash allowing you to capture better quality Images and Videos. Users can also make video calls using front 0.3 megapixel camera. It comes with 4Gb internal memory which can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD Card.
Second is the Iris 505 which is nearly same as 506Q with 5-inch capacitive touch screen display offering 854×480 pixels resolution. This is also a Dual SIM device running on Android 4.2 Jellybean operating system. Lava has powered the phone with 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor along with 512Mb of RAM. As per storage, it comes with 4GB internal and upto 32GB support of MicroSD card. Iris 505 also comes with 5 Megapixel rear camera with just LED Flash. There is also a 0.3 Megapixel VGA camera t front for making video calls and conferencing. As per connectivity, this also supports 3G (HSDPA up to 21 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP and GPS. Both the phones are running on 2000 mAH battery from which we can expect battery life of upto 5 to 7 hours in usage mode.
Both Iris 505 and Iris 506Q are available at the said price of Rs. 8,999/- and Rs. 11,700 with retailers as well as online vendors.
