Acer announces Iconia A3 10.1-inch android tablet
As expected, Acer has unveiled a new 10.1" tablet running Android and it was presented a few days of the opening of the IFA 2013 in Berlin.
The rumor of a new Android tablet in 10" class has appeared. In order to extend the range of its family Acer began with the Iconia A1 8" and the new Iconia B1 7" in May. Now, in category of 10.1" Android tablets, Acer has announced the new Iconia A3.
The new tablet will help the group to achieve its target of 10 million tablets this past year. Aware of the price issue for this type of product, Acer has opted for a quad core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 processor.
The screen is an IPS with resolution 1280 x 800 pixels in 16:10 format suitable for watching videos, with a dual speaker and its virtualized Dolby 5.1 and a Micro HDMI Port to deport the TV display.
The tablet ships from 16 to 32 GB of internal memory, expandable by microSD card, and exists in a 3G modem version as well. It promises up to 9 nine hours autonomy and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with some optimization of the interface like for example the Touch WakeApp to access favorites directly from standby applications. On the back there is a 5 megapixel camera.
The Acer Iconia tablet A3 will be available by the end of October 2013 in Europe for €249 in WiFi version and €299 3G version.
