Toshiba launches new universal docking station that connects screen, keyboard, mouse and peripherals to any laptop.
Toshiba announced yesterday the dynadock V3.0 Universal Docking Station, economic and reduced variant of the universal dock dynadock U3.0 launched at CES 2013.
It can quickly reconnect the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse, its speakers and other devices to the laptop when it comes to its job.
Just like its predecessor, it uses to do the 5 Gb/s r/w speed for USB 3.0. But remember that unlike a proprietary connector for docking station, as found in some business laptops, USB does not deport direct inputs/outputs. The case therefore comes with its own USB controller, its own audio controller but above its own graphics controller, provided as usual by DisplayLink. And 5 Gb/s are up for office use, but not intensive applications, such as gaming or video editing, for example.
Anyway this docking station offers two USB 3.0 ports constantly connected (which can charge devices without a computer), four USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, headphone output and microphone input. Compared to the more upscale model, we have got two USB 3.0 ports, a DVI output, 5.1 audio outputs and an Ethernet port.
Toshiba dynadock V3.0 will soon be sold at a retail price of $120.
