Recently we saw news of Intex launching cheapest JellyBean smartphone called 'Intex Cloud X3' for just Rs. 3,790/-. In order to compete with the same, Karnonn Mobiles today launched two new budget phones named as Karbonn A1 Star and A5 Star at budget price. Though these phones are not running with Android JellyBean OS, but they are good at the said price. Lets find out.
Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich Karbonn A1 Star features 3.5 inch touch screen display offering 480 x 320 pixels resolutions. It is a DUAL SIM phone powered with 1 GHz Processor and 256MB of RAM just like Intex Cloud X3. The device comes with 163 MB built-in storage memory that can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD card. In terms of camera we get 3 megapixel rear camera along with 0.3 megapixel front facing camera for making video calls and conferencing. A1 start supports connectivity options such as 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and is running on 1450 mAh battery offering is battery life of upto 6 hours.
On the other hand Karbonn A5 Star is even low in specifications with just 3.2 inch touch screen display offering 480 x 320 pixels. It is also a DUAL SIM phone running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Karbonn has powered the phone with same 1 GHz Processor and 256MB of RAM with just 104MB built-in memory which can be further expanded upto 32GB. As far as connectivity is concerned, A5 Star also supports 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. There is also a 3.2MP rear camera with 0.3MP VGA camera for making video calls and conferencing. The device is powered with 1200 mAh battery that offers maximum battery life of upto 5 hours.
Bothe A1 Star and A5 star clearly appear to be an entry level low range device but this can be a good choice for people looking for budget android phones. Karbonn A1 star costs Rs. 3,515/- where A5 Star can be bought for Rs. 4,890/-
