Evernote has expanded its service by adding the ability to manage lists.
Despite competition from Microsoft, with OneNote, and more recently Google, the company Evernote has stood out in the notebook market by offering a paperless web service, but also for mobile applications or genuine software on Windows and OS X. The company has announced the launch of a new eagerly awaited service feature: managing lists.
Evernote has introduced Reminders effect. This new feature is now available for OS X, iOS as well as its web service. Reminders appears as a small icon at the top of each note. Simply click on it to set a deadline for transforming the task memo. Until now it had to juggle between different labels to manage the progress of a project.
The mechanism falls within the timing and doubles as a system of push notifications on iOS or OS X, but it is also possible to receive an alert by email. The user configuring a task on the OS X application can thus be notified on their iPhone or iPad thereafter. Evernote explains that the management of these reminders can be restricted to a notebook in particular and then can facilitate collaborative work to establish priorities. Incidentally, all the notes provided with a deadline are automatically ranked on the list of their respective books.
Reminders is available for free or paid accounts and the company says that the feature is still far from being completed and will be on other platforms later. You can find a video presentation on this page.
