Indian Network provider Idea Cellular introduced two new Android based 3G smartphones in India including ID 920 and Aurus III which is the upgraded version of Aurus II launched last year. Both devices seem to be the entry level smartphone.

Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system “Idea ID 920” is a Dual Sim phone priced at Rs. 4,950. It features a 3.5-inch screen offering 320 x 480 pixel resolution. Not really good for watching videos, pictures or games. There is only a 2 Megapixel rear Camera, no secondary camera provided. As per storage the device comes with only 100MB of onboard storage but have an expandable slot for external memory card. Fortunately Idea has powered the phone with 1GHz single-core processor but yet disappoints with just 256MB of RAM. In terms of connectivity it supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, microUSB v2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0. Over all, at the price of almost Rs. 5,000 it seems to be over priced.

The second device Aurus III is the successor of Aurus II. Priced at Rs. 6990 Aurus 3 is running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and comes with 4-inch capacitive display offering 480 x 800 pixels resolution. This is also a Dual Sim phone powered with 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. As per storage we get 1.4 GB built-in storage which can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD Card. We also get 5 Megapixel rear camera with Aurus III along with a 0.3 Megapixel Front facing camera for making video calls and conferencing. In terms of connectivity Aurus 3 supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, microUSB v2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0.

Over all the devices are good but if we compare than other devices available in the market in the same price range than both these smartphones may stand behind as other phones have much better configuration than both of these.
