80,000 Google Chrome users got affected by fake version of Bad Piggies game

Security Company Barracuda Networks has recently reported a fake version of Bad Piggies game. By now 80,000 Google Chrome users have got affected by this fake version of Bad Piggies game after downloading it from Chrome Web Store. According to Barracuda Networks this adware installs a plug-in which shows advertisements while user visits popular websites. They said once a user allows this app for accessing data on all websites, spammers and cyber criminals get a chance for accessing personal data like emails, contacts, credit card information and others.

If you go to Chrome web store and search for Bad Piggies than you will see below results. Seven of the eight extensions are fake version of Bad Piggies game, none of them are official versions of the Rovio game. They are available from different source. One should not install theses plugins, a web-based game is not at all related to other browser tabs. There are a number of sites that are targeted by this plugin.
