3 new Aspire S7 Ultrabooks announced by Acer

Acer has announced 3 new Ultrabooks in Aspire S7 line. They have optimized many new features for Windows 8 operating system, these new Ultrabooks are said to be world's thinnest touch ultrabooks. They will have true HD (1080p) displays and they’ll measuring 0.48in in thickness.

Amongst these 3 Ultrabooks, Acer Aspire S7-391-6810 and Acer Aspire S7-391-9886 are 13-inch ultrabooks with 1,920 x 1,080 display and10-finger touch capabilities. They both will have Gorilla Glass 2 implemented into the lid and will weigh just 2.83lb (1.28kg). They have been designed smartly for frequent pressure on the screen. They will feature Dolby Home Theater Audio via built-in stereo speakers,2 USB 3.0 ports, and micro-HDMI output. Their keyboards will feature automatic backlighting for auto-adjustment using ambient light sensor. Acer Aspire S7-391-9886 has better battery life compared to S7-391-6810, it will deliver six hours of battery where as S7-391-6810 will deliver five hours of battery life. They both will come up with extended battery pack for increasing battery life to 12 and 10 hours accordingly.

Third one is Acer Aspire S7-191-664, it has 11.6-inch touch display (1,920 x 1,080 resolutions) with 10-finger tracking and has same feature as that of S7-391-6810 and S7-391-9886. It will measure 0.48in in thickness like other two but doesn’t have Gorilla Glass.

Their specifications are appearing good but their prices are quite high, I think that they will have trouble attracting buyers at their current pricing. I think that they will have better opportunity in attracting mob if they drop it to $1000. I have read somewhere that their Marketing people are already expecting less users compared to what they had planned, I am not that sure about that thing but $1,400, $1,650 and $1,200 are really high, if their prices remain same then they will surely struggle in getting mass response.
