Nokia Lumia 510: Low-End Windows Phone Spotted
Nokia will soon unveil a new entry-level smartphone for its range called "Lumia 510" that will run on Windows Phone 7.8.
In addition to its Lumia 920 and 820, the Finnish manufacturer Nokia will expand its range of smartphones by placing this time on the entry level phone. Indeed, on one of the Chinese giant Baidu sites, we find several pictures of a Lumia 510 mobile phone. It should compete with Android smartphones on the local market.
The Lumia 510 would have a 4 inch screen and is powered by a chip clocked at 800 MHz combined with 256 MB of RAM. The device embarks Windows 7.5 and will be updated on Windows Phone 7.8. Nokia had previously announced plans to expand its Windows Phone at a better place to compete against others.
Niklas Savander, Vice President of Marketing at Nokia, explained to Pocket-Lint blog in March 2012: "We are in competition with Android." And added, "in many markets Android phone's are $100, which means that if we are 189 euros (note: excluding taxes) with the Lumia 610, we have a lot of work for the entry-level smartphone for first-time buyers." Previous reported rumors that Nokia will unveil a new smartphone running Windows Phone 7.8, codenamed "Glory."
