Lenovo has confirmed the arrival of its first Windows 8 tablet, the ThinkPad Tablet 2, by the end of October, based on a x86 Intel Atom powered.
The announcement made by Lenovo confirms the leak that was previously occurred on the Web: the Chinese manufacturer will join the launch of Windows 8 Tablet with a touch pad of its own, called the Thinkpad Tablet 2. It will adopt the 10.1 inches format, with an IPS panel display of 1366 x 768 pixels.
While there was no further details provided of the exact configuration, Lenovo has confirmed that its forthcoming tablet embark an Intel Atom signed processor, which likely belongs to the family of Cloverview, engraved in 32 nanometers, that will be announced by the launch of Windows 8.
The Thinkpad Tablet 2 is 9.8 mm thick and will acknowledge approximately 600 grams on the scale. Lenovo promises a battery life of around 10 hours, a module 3G/4G optional micro HDMI output and a full USB port. The tablet also will carry two photo sensors, one 8-megapixel on the back and the other 2-megapixel on the front.
Optionally, Lenovo will sell a docking station, a digital pen, keyboard and a trackpad.
The Thinkpad Tablet 2 will be launched along with Windows 8, whose output is programmed to 26 October. No price has yet been confirmed.
