The Finnish manufacturer Nokia announced an update to its GPS application Nokia Drive on Windows Phone.
The Nokia Drive, installed on the Lumia phones, offers mobile users a step ahead for navigation and a voice-assisted guidance. One of the strengths is that it requires no network connection. Upon startup, the user will be prompted to download local maps of the country or those of a particular region. Version 3.0 of Nokia Drive is capable of analyzing the user's favorite routes but also to identify the traffic in real time to enable them to choose other paths.
Nokia Drive 3.0 also changes on the fly for the route between two points according to traffic conditions. In theory, in case of an accident and slowdowns, the application will then offer to take the next exit or another path known to the driver on the device. Nokia Drive will also activate the day and night mode according to the hours of use. Finally, the mobile phones will be able to add favorite destinations to its Home screen. Suffice it to press the stamp to automatically calculate the route according to its geographical position.
Nokia Drive 3.0 will soon be available in the Windows Phone Marketplace. The manufacturer indicates that U.S. will be the first country to benefit and then afterwards the update will be offered to others later.
